The FBI reports that in America a burglary occurs every 10 seconds. A property crime occurs every 3 seconds. Most American homes are full of valuable electronics and priceless family heirlooms. However, only 25% of these same homes have a security system. The vast majority of security system installations are done after a home has been broken into. 90% of police believe alarms deter burglary attempts. Interestingly enough, 90% of burglars interviewed said they would not attempt to break into a home with an electronic security system.
So, this isn’t a scare tactic, but it’s the truth. I belong to a community facebook page, and it’s scary to hear about all the crimes in my community. The community that I make my home in, and I want to feel safe and secure. We have problems as small as kids throwing rocks at houses, but that becomes a headache when those rocks actually break through the glass. We also have people ringing doorbells all hours of the night, don’t open the door, but let the person know you are home. This may be me just venting, but I don’t understand how someone can pay $6.00 for a large personalized coffee at the neighborhood coffee shop on a daily basis, and they need to think twice about spending less then $2.00 per day to secure themselves and their family, and their treasured possessions. I’m not saying that an alarm system will stop a burglar from getting in if he is determined; however, it will deter him, and if he does get in then you know that help is on the way. If anyone has questions or concerns regarding an alarm system, or a surveillance system, we are available Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 at our office 702-870-8880. Give us a call, we love hearing from people and answering any and all questions!
